You may be familiar with Ghanaian Master Drummer, Obo Addy. Obo, who many regard as the Grandfather of African Music in Portland passed away in 2012 after a long battle with cancer. After years in storage, his foundation has allowed his personal drum collection to be displayed here at Rhythm Traders. Some of these drums (Obonu, Fontomfrom, Ewe, and Atumpani drums) are GIGANTIC sets designed and carved for ensembles. He also had a number of Ghanaian xylophones or Gyils, as well as kpanlogo drums, bells, shakers, costumes, and props.
