Greetings all,
For episode 2 of Monday Memories, we're going to stay in Cuba. During Fiesta del Tambor we got to watch the incredible Salsa/Timba/Latin Jazz group "Klimax" lead by the amazing drummer, Giraldo Piloto. If you haven't heard this group, you must check them out. The group is incredible and so very versatile.
They are all remarkable musicians but what really stuck out to us was the amazing groove and independence of the timbalero, Jean. In this short clip, he demonstrates some incredible technique. Clave and guiro, clave and bongo and a remarkable Timba style abanico. Another strong player. One of our favorites. We're still trying to figure this stuff out.
