Monday Memories ep.5 Guinea Carvers and the Maitre Djembe

Possibly the best thing about working at the Rhythm Traders is all of the relationships that have been made during 30 years of business. One of the longest and perhaps strongest is that between us and our carvers/friends in Guinea, West Africa. This affiliation began at our original store on W. Burnside 30 years ago and continues to this day at our 4th location. A cornerstone of the Rhythm Traders business philosophy has been to not only be a place that sells drums but a place that establishes mutually beneficial relationships. The Maitre Djembe was made for us by our Master carvers to celebrate, at the time, our 20th anniversary. Take a look at the making of this truly amazing piece of art. If you're able, stop by the store and check out the Maitre djembe and ask about our drum building supplies. It's awesome!
